Athina is a sterilized, female pointer mix doggy around 1 year old. Athina was abandoned by hunters is autumn as she probably was not so good in this sport… she wandered near the village of Megalochori, disoriented and in need of food and water and stayed by the highway over the port of Athinios - this is how she earned her name… Shortly after she was first spotted, volunteers found her again walking in the middle of the road… not knowing where to go and they brought her to the Refuge. Athina was extremely thin and malnourished but quickly managed to gain the weight she needed. From the very start she exhibited a very social and friendly behavior to all humans as she was asking them to help her! She has adapted very well in life at the Refuge and has made many new friends. Athina is a perfect companion for all outdoors activities that will always stay by your side… she also would make a loving companion for inside the house as she adores being around humans at all times.
