Foxtrot & Zulu

Foxtrot and Zulu are a female and male pointer both sterilized and of young age. Their story is rather tragic and affectionate at the same time. As abandoned hunting dogs Foxtrot and Zulu joined a pack of wild dogs in order to survive. Before the season started last year this pack attacked a chicken pen and strangled all the hens inside as soon as the owners found out what was going on all the wild dogs jumped over the fence to flee… all except for Foxtrot that was pregnant and not so limber and Zulu who stayed by her side to protect her… Of course the two pointers took all the blame and the local villagers decided to shoot them. SAWA was called and this is how Foxtrot and Zulu ended up at the Refuge. It took months for both to recover from a lifetime of abuse. They would not exit their dog house placed inside a room and when they did they would never exit the room. Today Foxtrot and Zulu are two social and friendly dogs that have overcome their fears and gained confidence. They still remain very attached to each other and they are the “happy couple” of the Refuge. Foxtrot and Zulu have no interest in hunting and this is the original reason why they were abandoned but they have great interest in finding a “human family” of their own - one that will never give them up…
