Marcus

Marcus is a neutered male English setter of young age. Along with Joanne, a female stray dog, they would wander the streets of the village of Pyrgos and pay friendly visits to the neighboring homes seeking for some food and affection. SAWA was called to pick up Joanne and when she was spotted Marcus was presumed to belong to the nearby house, so he was not collected…. Nevertheless Marcus, like a true gentleman, did not leave Joanne’s side but followed the car she was put in… very soon we realized that he was also abandoned and we took him with us. Even though Marcus is a pure breed setter and was probably bought by his owner, he was abandoned as he did not hunt. This is a very common reason why people leave their hunting dogs behind as well as why hunting dogs consist 60% of Santorini’s stray dog population… Marcus is a large breed, tall dog that is currently very thin after prolonged malnourishment… but he has a healthy appetite and will gain weight soon. Marcus has a very gentle and respectful nature he coops fantastically well with humans and other dogs and all he is looking for is  a place in your heart!
