Whiskey-RESERVED

Whiskey is a 2-3 year old sterilized, female pointer with a sad story. Almost half of the stray dogs of Santorini are pure bred pointers as unfortunately the illegal hunting of migratory birds consists a favorite local pass time...Of course nearly all these dogs are seldom, kept or trained properly nor are they ever sterilized. Moreover they pass their entire lives in small cages meant for hens or tied up to a metal barrel... only left certain times a year to "hunt".... So this is how Whiskey ended up in the streets and approached a village in the heart of winter to beg for some food. An old lady took pity in her and started feeding Whiskey who immediately befriended her. But the neighbors of the village were not happy to have a stray dog of no purpose wandering around their homes and in order to get rid of her she got severely beaten. The old lady asked SAWA to take her in order to save her. Whiskey is still timid and always exhibits a kind and tender nature. She is easy going and craving for some affection…
